Last Minute: The best time to pack and start a blog

Okay. So I caved and started a blog before I got to Madagascar and start my next beautiful adventure. The past three years in Minneapolis earning my degree in Professional Journalism have been hectic, exhausting, and extremely rewarding and I can only imagine the three adjectives I'll be using at the end of this next adventure.

Right now, It's honestly a mix of emotions. All these "See-You-Later-s" can really get to you! Just tonight I chased my dad up the stairs to hug him goodnight. Not something I normally do, but I want to get in as much hugs as I can! It's been great spending time with my family and friends before I leave - this pack three weeks has been packed with so much love! I'm going to miss all the people that have supported me more than words can explain. Just writing those words brings tears to my eyes and a lump in my throat. I know time will past faster than I could ever anticipate, and that time-flying will be bitter sweet. I also know that no matter where I am in the world, I have their support and that means a lot to me! Thanks everyone :)

I'm so excited to meet the 30(ish) people I will be spending the next two years with and all the wonderful Peace Corp Volunteers that are already creating a great experience for me as I get ready to leave. Last minute packing has been a bit stressful. Mostly just making sure my luggage is under the weight requirement and I'm obeying every airline rule. I haven't flown since I was fourteen years-old, so I'm a bit rusty on all the little details!

Anyways, going to run for marshmallow roasting at a bonfire - and maybe a beer or two before I get ready for bed. Lots of traveling the next few days: about two hours to Philadelphia (then some Staging), a few hours (I think on a bus) to JFK airport in NYC, 15 hours to Johannesburg, South Africa, and a final three hours to Antananarivo, Madagascar!

With love,
Elizabeth

p.s. feel free to follow this for updates on my adventure! I'm sure I'll spruce up the page (not even sure what it looks like at the moment....honestly just hit a few buttons and started writing).
